Another solid episode

As always, these movies guarantee plenty of really solid slick and tense action. This one starts to lean towards a James Bond vibe, skimping on the outrageous impossible stunts. It's still fab, as long as you can take in the endless layers of "HAHA it was all part of some amazing plan!"

Pleasant surprise

Expecting this to be a loud and dumb 'modern take' on the fairytale, I was pleasantly surprised. The pacing is right, it never goes over the top, it looks great and the actors deliver, especially Theron!

Okay these guys are tough

As these men are battered & bruised, smashed against rocks, cornered and shot, the increasing dread of death and hopelessness comes across very well. Intense movie that stuck for a while.

Shoot 'em up between navy seals and taliban

Main part of the movie consists of Americans and Taliban chasing, shooting, injuring and killing eachother. Apparently a navy seal can sustain more injury than Iron Man ("is there a bullet in my head?"). Overall an okay movie for those of us not easily scared by bloody scenes.

Over the top science fiction action movie (in a good way)

A bit too much of everything, but somehow just right because of that!

Take some time to let it sink in, and start enjoying

Not familiar with this comic, I feared I'd never get into this unexplained stream of weirdness. But the humor, vivid space combat action and sympathetic characters grew on me and left me quite entertained indeed.

Superman remains tough to beat, and tough to make a good film out of

They have given him some worthy adversaries other than kryptonite, resulting in some really smashing showdowns. But the storytelling is messy, and Hollywood still doesn't realize that an overdose of fast, blurry and over the top destruction only leaves viewers bored and cut off from the movie.

Good but very slow

Overall it is a fine, nicely shot and very moody mystery-horror. But I have to say it is taking the 'slow burning' up to rather extreme lengths, up until the point it almost it standing still and they somewhat loose the tension curve.

You may not get it

It is hard to connect with this strange mixture of crazy outfits, ridiculous people, bizarre plot, lessons in life and bloody violence. But once I did - way into the movie - I started to laugh and was quite entertained.

A fine psychological drama but nothing spectacular

This movie was quite a departure from my usual scifi and horror picks, but I have to say it kept my interest all the way. This is mainly because of the strong lead actresses, and a subtle anxiety woven through the story. But a little bit more spice would have been welcome for me.

How to deal with adolescent hardships (in a non-comic way)

No action or comedy flick, but a nice movie when you are in the right mood for an insightful trip into the world of adolescents and the challenges they have to face. Key words: future plans and careers, (badly ending) relationships, and alcohol abuse (to name just a few we all know so well ;) )

A somewhat mellow but fine chapter in this series

It really is an in-between movie without a convincing climax, and with less tension and mystery than its predecessor. But is also retrains enough of the unique style and excitement to make it worthwhile.

Disturbing. Good.

An uncomfortable, disturbing, taboo shattering movie that nevertheless remains gripping and within tolerance levels. It even manages to evoke some level of empathy for the outcast.

Perfectly unimpressive

What a perfect Starwars movie. It has everything you could possibly want, done in a tasteful and beautiful manner. Yet I walk out the theater feeling indifferent, numb and with no desire to discuss, read up, rethink or relive any of it. I wonder if it's just fatigue, or something more fundamental

Not pleasant but rewarding in the end

It is a bit filthy and unpleasant by it's very nature, and I wasn't sure if wanted to experience this in it's entirety. Turns out I did. I became curious to find out how it ends and how it came to be. It's probably also a wise (but optional) lesson about humanity and 'spontaneous socialism'.

A decent single location mystery

A risky movie, featuring mostly a single person in a single location, but I thought it succeeded pretty well in setting up an interesting mystery puzzler, with a dash of scifi. There was room for some more intricacies if you ask me, but all in all good job.

Delightful

A delightful movie with great music tracks and characters that will steal your heart. I did feel that the story could have used some more details, and they could have had some more fun with using odd animal species rather than the obvious choices seen here (monkeys, pigs, elephant).

Genuine and exciting, but full of wankers

I liked the authentic feel throughout, as well as the restrained acting and good underwater scenes. Something was not quite right with the characters though, as everyone was sort of a zombie ignorant ass about everything that was going on.

ok mystery, but sluggish and slightly dull

Mostly a fine mystery and crime story, that adds some layers as we learn more about how the device works. But like many series, it can be very sluggish, almost as if it is struggling to fill up 8 episodes. Most actors are kind of flat, too.

Nice gimmick in an ok horror

I love the thing they do with dark and light, but it's not enough to compensate for the over familiar story, characters and performances - which prevent it from becoming truly scary. A fine horror though.

A naughtly mixture of humor and bloody murder

Successfully plays out comedy and murder throughout the movie in an unusual but successful cocktail.

A good war movie that's missing out on some areas

I am always reluctant to complain when a movie sets out to depict and respect true war events, but while it certainly is and engrossing and genuine movie, some part of it felt of. Unlikely dialogue, oddly undisciplined soldiers and a major who's personality is allover the place.

A fair addition to the tale

My compliments for staying true to the concept, yet finding a story from a new viewpoint, instead of just doing the same movie again (in Barcelona). Overall, it is a pretty tense and entertaining movie, even if it slightly dozes off during the bits between the action.

A decent sci-fi-noire puzzler, but without real impact

The blend of film noir, sci-fi and mystery is my cup of tea, and I did enjoy it. But it also felt dated, it never was really scary or intense, and there was something almost childish and artificial about it. It somehow struck me as a clip they play to set the mood for a roller-coaster ride.

Intense and different, but not necessarily likable

I can appreciate the grime atmosphere and action instead of the ridiculous and hollow bubbly colors of most superhero movies. But is does mean that there is hardly anyone to like in this movie, nor is Charles as a needy and deteriorating man any fun to watch.

A fair Se7en clone

The story, of course, is somewhat similar to Se7en, but the atmosphere is different and not as dark en depressing. I thought it was okay, but it can be illogical at times, the detectives' flat, emotionless personality wasn't helping and the version I saw was let down by subpar english voiceovers.

An adventure like this ought to be more exciting

Looks good and overall a good watch. But it didn't get quite as emotional, scary, claustrophobic or engrossing as I had hoped. I think the slightly detached actors are the main problem.

Better than other superhero movies but still not very exciting

I liked this better than most superhero movies. It looks crisp, some of the fighting is nicely choreographed and shot, characters are sort of likeable and it isn't as hysteric or over the top as the others. But like most superhero movies, it struggles to reach deeper or really leave an impression.

A raw, unpolished war story

There is something very loose about the story and directing, giving it a docu like atmosphere as you observe these brave guys like a fly on the wall. It also meant I was not over involved with them either, but it's a good watch nonetheless.

Fine scfi, but lacking the right stuff to soar

A decent, fine looking flick that achieves much without over-relying on effects or spectacle. I thought it lacked some finesse, and felt like it reached for some deeper but didn't quite get a grasp. I was also very disappointment with the thing they needed the nuclear battery for.

An uncomfortable subject cleverly twisted into a decent thriller

Although there is obviously necrophilia, the movie manages to keep it watchable without wanting to take a shower afterwards. In fact, it turns into an original and really decent thriller.

Tastes like chicken

Even though the premise is disturbing, it never crosses the line of becoming a dumb gorefest that solely relies on the shockeffect, which make this horror rather effective and interesting.

Simple but sweet time travel conundrums

It's perhaps a bit tame, and guilty of picking and choosing only the time travels paradoxes it wants, but all in all we enjoyed this puzzler that mixes crime, time travel and a love-story into a sympathetic series.

Wicked action saved the mission

One the one hand, we have very peculiar acting, misplaced slo-mo shots and indigestible patriotism and voiceovers. On the other, we have exquisite action scenes and a Call of Duty-style story telling that works very well.

Point of view is too boring for what is happening

A darker, more serious version of the original, that is actually quite classy at times. Unfortunately, the story is focused almost entirely at the marketing of Robocop and influencing public opinion about automated crime control, which I did not find the most exciting perspective.

Orginal and brave

This movie strikes some nice chords as it wanders into pleasant absurdity. Gradually, a more standard crime story takes over, which is less appealing by comparison. Still, extra points for originality and courage.

Shame about the crew

Perfectly adequate in it's display of deep water fear and claustrophobia, but making all members chagrined assholes probably wasn't the best way to make me care.

Scores in many fields but not in depth or true excitement

This superhero flick features some colorful and original footage, a healthy dose of - sometimes poorly timed - humor and fighting amidst awesome transforming cities that put Interception to shame. But despite the deep multidimensional theme, I found it strangely shallow and one-dimensional.

Hefty serial killer without much engagement

The serial killers methods are hefty and relentless, so you never feel sorry for the his painful fate. It's a good flick if you like serial killers and gore, but I didn't really feel involved mainly because the cop is such a sterile and robotic character.

A novel and well executed horror idea

A bold idea that works surprisingly well and provided a unique scary movie. For sheer originality I wanted to rate this higher, but for that it would have needed more than these unappealing teen characters and a slightly more refined plot.

Too nasty

It looks fantastic and was made well. But the brutality and sheer nastiness in the movie left a bad taste in my mouth. I am still having nightmares about Brazen Bulls.

A fun horror oldie

It's easy to smirk at this somewhat clumsy and overacted movie with a simplistic and sometimes odd story line. But I kind of enjoyed this quirky horror fantasy, with some practical effects that still pack a punch. Not all; some.

A remarkably framed horror

The main protagonist is a remarkably cartoonish and over-the-top character, which reminded me a bit of the Ash character from Evil Dead. While this horror has it's moment's, this mostly makes it akin towards comedy. Refreshing and quiet amusing perhaps, but not really terrifying.

Another fine spy movie

There's nothing wrong with it. It could even be quite good. But to me, all these spy femme fatale movies are so bloody similar and generic, like they al follow the same textbook. The 'seduction training school' was something that stood out, but seemed too absurd to add points to this.

Pretty cool contemporary whoddunit

The prospect of watching superhip Tiktok kids yelling stuff like ghosting and gaslighting while screaming and running through the house was not appealing to me. But I gotta say, these actors portray some pretty intense characters, adding to pretty intense, contemporary whodunnit film.

a bit cold

Characters and atmosphere are a bit cold and unsympathetic, in an otherwise amusing and nicely found road/drama/love-movie (with a dash of sci-fi).

Beautifull, wonderfully sassy but utterly convoluted

For the first half I was able to just let the crazy bubbly actors and colorful nonsense be and enjoy the ride. But after she stuck her head in the jellyfish, he watched a strip show to gain access to a transformation suite, I got tired and bored of the endless barrage of convoluted STUFF going on.

A poor but amusing alien clone

Even if it is nowhere near as good, it steals a lot of scenery and creepiness form Alien, which is okay with me. It really is a poor-mans version of said movie, but in a fun and sympathetic way, and it manages to bring in some memorable scenes of it's own.

Well made and interesting, but know it's basically lengthy love drama

What a great idea to explore what was behind these duels: Who were these people? What were they fighting for? And while the movie is made with much class and great acting, it still felt like a love-triangle-jealousy kind of thing which almost is a bit soapy at times.

Great reveal and vibe, but somehow didn't quite nail it

The reveal at the end, and some pondering on my part, made me realize this is actually a pretty clever movie. But the bubbly 50's colors and cartoonish acting of the mother, while creating a unique atmosphere, sort of diminished the scares - which were already a bit cliched.

Stylish violent action, if not a bit repetitive

A violent movie with a gloomy and sweaty atmosphere and bucket loads of style. After a while though, the endless shootouts, and the mobsters' tendency to run into the hitman's arms without shooting, got a bit tiresome.

I feared worse

There's the inevitable movie cliches. The main gum-chewing hero was annoying as hell. But I like how his character changed as he was given responsibility, and the movie features plenty of well done and good looking battle scenes. Yet none of it really stuck as I left the theater.
