A pleasant fix of gloomy weirdness

I wonder if it's just because of the black and white that it reminded me of Eraserhead? Or was it also the sweaty claustrophobic cinematography, the insanity and otherworldlyness of it all? Who knows. It's a cult niche thing, but a worthy one for sure.

Pleasant and intimate modern fairytale

A pleasant modern day fairlytale with an intimate atmosphere and performances. Much more refined than big blockbusters, and the sickness is brought without sugarcoating. It's just that the twist at the end, although I can see the point of it, was somewhat abrupt and left me slightly unfulfilled.

Good not great

It doesn't over-dwell in the misery, and the broken relationship between the two added an effective layer to it. But I thought acting was good but not great, and wondered if it could have been a more profound experience.

slow but effective

It is pushing the limits of slow burning, and perhaps lacks some focus in the story. But I remained on board the entire time, because I certainly was curious, it is intriguingly uncanny and I really liked the acting of the lead.

Decent scifi survival adventure

I thought it was an original and good looking adventure that kept me interested all the way.

A little mainstream but not bad

It doesn't break any new grounds and is fairly reminiscent of mainstream horror these days. But it does manage to hold it's own with some decent moments, the 60's entourage and fine actresses.

Mostly fine

I wasn't sure I wanted to watch an entire movie featuring exaggerated Q+HTBI characters, but Kevin Bacon is putting on quite a show, and the slowly developing sinister undertone makes it interesting. As it draws to and end, it felt ideas ran out and it winded up as a mediocre slasher.

A more personal drama involving time paradoxes

I thought it was an interesting idea to have the effects of messing with time work on a more personal, relational level. And while it certainly works and creates a commendable movie, sometimes it felt more like a family drama and it sort of dozes off.

Too much?

Despite a couple of awesome scenes and a praiseworthy new tone and style, I felt underwhelmed. I am getting tired of some of the star wars ways, the casino sidestory was awful, I didn't like Luke and I was bored during the endless contemplating of the force and good and evil. It's getting too much.

Guilty pleasure

I liked it. Brutal, dumb, heavy duty action with some laughs thrown in.
